Couple kicked off Emirates flight because woman had period pain

A woman was kicked off an Emirates flight together with her man because she had period pain.

Beth Evans, 24, and Joshua Moran, 26, were at Birmingham airport on a flight to Dubai when they were ordered to leave the plane before takeoff. The couple say flight crew overheard Beth saying she was suffering period pain and began questioning her. The crew then decided Beth needed medical assessment before they would permit her to begin the journey. However, as a doctor wasn't readily available, the couple were forced to leave the plane.

Joshua told The Sun: "To be kicked off for period pains, it was madness. Beth was in tears and getting upset when the hostess was asking her questions."
Beth reportedly said the pain was "one out of ten" and that she was happy to fly but Emirates staff said they could not allow her to travel in case her condition got worse during the flight.

In reply, a spokesman for the airline said: "The passenger alerted crew that she was suffering from discomfort and pain and mentioned she was feeling unwell. The captain made the decision to request medical support and offload Ms Evans so she could access medical assistance. We would not have wanted to endanger Ms Evans by delaying medical help had she worsened during the flight."
