Victims in Mark Salling's child pornography case may sue his estate after he committed suicide

Following the suicide of former “Glee” star Mark Salling, 35, the victims in his child porn case might be suing his Estate for damages after he killed himself.
According to TMZ, under Salling's plea deal, Salling agreed to pay the victims $50k each in restitution. However, in order for the settlement to take effect, Salling would have to be sentenced first.

The court documents circulated at the time Salling agreed his plea bargain, reads: “I am pleading guilty because I am guilty of the charges and wish to take advantage of the promises set forth in this agreement, and not for any other reason.”

Salling's sentencing was scheduled for March but due to his sudden death, the plea deal remains incomplete, leaving the judge without the power to order payment to the victims.

Meanwhile, there is one alternative for the victims as they could sue Salling's estate for damages in an attempt to collect the money.

The actor who committed suicide by hanging on Monday had recently pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. Having reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, Salling was due to be sentenced on 7 March.
Salling was reportedly facing between four and seven years in prison, as well as being required to register as a sex offender.
